I know several people using the Motorola SurfBoard SB5100 (DOCSIS 1.0,1.1,2.0 compatible), I've not heard of anyone who had problems with it, and it's available at a decent price ($79.99 - #40.00 rebate = $39.99) at Circuit City. One of the nice features of this modem is a standby switch, so it's pretty easy to temporarily disconnect the network when performing system maintenance tasks.
