While many times interesting, I must say that the off-topic posts are
getting a bit much.
It is hard to draw distinct lines sometimes when, for example, issues of
law cross over into issues of intellectual and technological subject that
apply to Linux/FS/OSS. However, I think most of us know when a topic is
"on" or "off".
One could also argue that, assuming a "OT:" tag in the subject line, the
thread could just be ignored. While true, too many "OT" emails and the
purpose of the list is diluted or even defeated.
So, I have started a discussion among the Steering Committee to see if we
want to crank up a plug-misc or plug-whatever list to handle "non-linux"
traffic. In the mean time, I, as one PLUG member, vote it is time we get
back to discussing PLUG/Linux/FS/OSS stuff here in this list.
Also in the meantime, if someone has a preferred venue (list, forum, etc.)
for these sorts of discussions, please, point us to it and those
interested can join up.
