OK, maybe I'm missing something, but tell me if this makes sense-
EC somehow got his KDE settings hosed, particularly those governing
preferred apps for opening specific file types. Is that a correct
assesssment of the status quo?
IF this is the case, can it not be remedied by simply deleting the .KDE
directory from the home directory and restarting? Would the .KDE
directory not repopulate, and would that not reset KDE to its defaults?
If that is too drastic a step, would it not also be worthwhile for EC to
create another user like EC2 and see if KDE functions acceptably under
his second user profile? If it does, he could then just migrate any
needed data files and preferences from his first home directory to his
second and kill his first home directory if/when no longer needed.
Would that work? Is it worth a shot?
