Subject: Re: Gimp and opening partitions...again STOPPED
Well, I guess I will have to reinstall the distro.

Let me repeat again:

1. There is NO 'open with' on right clicking

2. Instead of Konqueror opening the hd icons and
files, Gimp does it and naturally gives an error
message similiar to 'I give up, not my bag of
tea"....being funny about it.

3. I haven't the foggiest what I changed that disabled
Konqueror's ability to open files.

4. I 'just found out' that IF I first open Konqueror,
then tell it to open location, I can get to any
directory in Mepis, and it will.

BUT I cannot open any other partiton UNLESS I know the
path completely to the file!

So I will 'limp along' for now.

Thanks for the help, some of which is above my 'end
user' level. Oh, well.

Maybe I will 'bag and tag' this unit down to the
installfest if I am available that Saturday and maybe
both problems can be solved then. No drivers license
or vehicle to transport on, but bus rt's 76 and 92
will get me close. Will have to beg a monitor tho. It
has been there once in 2003.

Let's end this topic as either I have no clue what
someone is talking about or 'open with' isn't an
option on it now. It WAS, but has disappeared at the
same time the Gimp raised its ugly? head.

=====
Cyclists should expect and demand safe
accommodation on our public roads,
just as does every other user.

Nothing more is expected.

Nothing less is acceptable!

Long live Knoppix!!
