That was my gym location until a few months ago. While I sympathize
with your loss, I would like to point out the obvious: Theft is likely
to occur anywhere people leave their items unattended. I believe that
the locker room is a good target because it is guaranteed to be free
of cameras, and, in my experience, the men tend to ignore their
surroundings.

First of all, how are you tempting anyone? Unless you leave the items
in the open, how does the thief know that there are valuable items in
the car?

You car is going to be as secure as the lock on it. As your story
demonstrates, thieves prefer to avoid disturbances. I am not sure
where you live, but I find it odd that you believe your home (which
also has windows) is more secure than your car. We were told at this
year's Defcon that the house locks were occasionally picked in under
10 seconds.

"Under a shade tree"!?!? I thought you said the Bally's at Cave Creek
and Cactus. ;-)
