Ordinarily I'd recommend waiting until it was good and expired (6 weeks
or more) and then just register it. But if they've kept it registered
for 7 years then that won't fly.

See my previous message about backordering through GoDaddy. But I should
add that my backorder is still ongoing, and I might end up with the
domain yet.
