I have struck out and cannot spend any more time on this tonight.

Executing the 0.12.0-pre4 version of pilot-xfer results in the same
"unable to bind to port" errors, whether or I point at /dev/ttyUSB from
udev or the manually created /tmp/pilot. There is still stuff broken or
conflicting in the process here.

The fixes in the above links focus on corrections for FC4. Since I am
on FC3 perhaps it does not follow that it will work for me. [shrug]

I am disappointed. If someone has a better idea on what to do about it
all, I'm happy to hear about it. If I am doing something stupid with
all that I have filled the list with today, give me a hit with a clue
stick please.
