I'll probable include Debian Stable, but I'm not keen to mirror all 13 CDs and not everyone has a DVD reader on their laptop.

Yes, I agree and that's what the InstallFest plans todo, but it's nice to have a good selection at hand to fill the odd request. Of course, I might get tired of trying to stay on top of so many distros.

That looks like a good selection. Fedora lacks some things that people want (MP3 player) and is too "enterprise-centric". SuSE is *very* stable and easy to install. Ubuntu is damn nice for an new kid on the block and Slackware, well, it's hard to go wrong with Slackware!
