Hi,
after installing gentoo during reboot I'm getting the
following error:
* Mounting proc at /proc... [ oops ]
* The "mount" command failed with error:
line 1: mount: command not found
* Since this is a critical task, startup cannot
continue.
Give root pasword for maintenance
(or type Control-D for normal startup):_
and of course the password and ctrl D is of no help.
are my two emails today related?
I thought this /proc error had something to do with
fstab
so here is the /proc entry in fstab:
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
after messing around with it I think it's possible,
but not likely that i forgot to :
[*] /proc file system support
in the make menuconfig
is there a way to get back to this so I can recompile
the kernel with /proc support? if that is the case...
i did try to
#chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash
and then
# cd /usr/src/linux
but the linux directory is gone. guess it was cleaned
up..
so I can't
# make menuconfig
I'm lost. rather than install again I thought I would
post this for some seasoned plugger advice!
Thanks in advance,
mike h
