I tried Mepis, but it wouldn't recognize my keyboard...
I have used and installed Knoppix on my hard drive and it really isn't
that hard to install. My only problem was I wanted a compiled kernel
for the ivtv driver and I couldn't tell which one they used (ie, what
patches they applied).
I finally just put Debian on the machine and installed the kernel I
wanted and the sofware I wanted. Nothing wrong with that.
