Thanks for the link it was a bit of help, but I get lost with all of the
"techno gumbo". I know my syatem fairly well, but I am no guru that is for
sure. I was able to connect with the oracle gui (after Install), I shut it
down and have not been able to get it back up. I looked into Oracle 10g and I
believe the install process is a bit easier, and they also have another
option, called Instant client. That is all I need anyway. Apparently sql plus
is available for linux.. So I am off to venture into the great world of super
fast downloading large files ;)..
