Yeah, for as expensive as Oracle is, you'd think it'd be a little easier
to install, even on their "supported" Linux distros. Once it's finally
installed then it's great, but it's one of the most aggravating apps I've
ever had to deal with.
Here's a link for installing on Fedora, with links for others at the
bottom. This guide should give you a good handle on what needs to be
configured before installing Oracle (Kernel version, JVM, etc.)
