I suggest only automagically updating against security. Do other updates
by hand. debian's good, but not perfect and it appears this is a system to
which you won't have ready access.

For most home stuff, it's probably not that bad if it's running some form o=
f
*NIX. Using an m$ desktop as the gateway would be a good way to make sure
everyone got the viruses...
