Don't bother with the installer. Just extract the
tarball<
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz>(flash
9 linked, in case that's not what you were installing or if you were
using a different file): tar -xzvf install_flashlalalablahblah.tar.gz, cd
flashblahblahblah, and then sudo cp
libflashplayer.so/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and you'll be good to go.
