A year or so ago I bought a refurbished Sharp Zaurus SL-5600 for less
than $150. Checking now they are not a plentiful on eBay as before but
it comes and goes.

I have not regretted my choice. It is like carrying a Linux PC in your
hand in feel and behavior. It has limitations, of course, but there are
several distros (aka ROMs) to choose from. A new version of the most
popular base was released just weeks ago. Read the wiki, etc. at
