I am using RHEL 4 and am using Evolution 2.0.2 with Exchange 2003. The
calendaring works well, the tasks work. It isn't as fast as
Thunderbird, but accepting meeting is much easier. I needed to do an
up2date since there were a few important patches that RedHat rolled in
that made Evolution much more stable. But -- it still folds up and
dies about once a week. I am using the Global Address List feature.
The filtering rules are just client based -- you need to log into
Exchange OWA if you want to do server side rules. However, in
Evolution 2.0 the filters at least run against new mail without
needing to fire them off. Overall, it is a win, no one in the office
notices I'm not on Windows. I guess the trick is to find a version
that is stable and stay with it.
