Although I don't sense a strong motorcycle interest here, I can point out
from personal experience that nothing teaches you to slow down like an Old
Fashioned "Tank-Slapper" at 120+ which can happen even on a straight, level,
freshly paved road.
Unless you are extremely careful about vehicle maintenance, the average
vehicle on the road today is unsafe at anything approaching 100mph.
