RHL 9 (actually tested abck to RHL 7.3, and 6.2 by me)
upgrades cleanly into centos-3 series; an upgrade to the
centos-4 series, with the change to the /dev in a 2.6 kernel
is a bit trickier, and I would do it in two steps.
