A direct jump to centos-4 is doable and documented at
http://www.owlriver.com/tips/centos-upgradeany/
but as noted a moment ago, as it is a new Anaconda option, in
its debut appearance in RHEL-4, it is for the more daring
amoung us.
I have done about 30 of these without incident, but I strictly
package any non-stock tarballs into SRPMs and rebuild as
indicated when a post install
rpm -Va
indicates problems
One of the nicest parts of CentOS is that there is a civil IRC
community at: #centos on Freenode.
