Said land lord would go out of business quite quickly, as no one would move
in. Unless of course the contract was signed under false pretences, or the
policy was instigated in the middle of a lease, or he kept everything in the
apartment if you refused to renew under the new terms (data lock in) in which
case, the land lord is infringing on the rites of the tenet and laws should be
in place to protect them as well.

We should work for alterations of the practices, not create a dysfunctional
underground Though I admit that while we fight the battles above, it is often
the only way to go. In which case those capable of breaking the locks are
left only to their own moral guidance, in which case I would still advocate
that freely copying and distributing intellectual property to be bad
juju. However the liberation of your property from on others unfairly imposed
restrictions is a just and righteous cause (I think data lock in is very bad
juju)

But again, these are just my opinions
