On a related note, I have found that if I allow my customers to delay
payments, this may start a habit of delaying payments.
In a few cases, I have been paid over 180 days after the completed job.
I started reminding my customers about discounts for pre-paid work. And
this helped in some cases.
When I have a bad vibe with a potential customer, I tell them to pay
upfront. Then I do the job -- and if the experience is bad, I won't do
further work.
