Have you tried compressed air? I have had the similar overheating
problems on a laptop before that were solved with about half a can of
compressed air blown into all the vents; thereby dislodging all the
accumulated dust which prevents efficient heat transfer. I had myself
almost convinced it was a motherboard failure until I used this $5
trick.
