this is pretty much the default handling coming from Evolution - pretty
much like Thunderbird
and as for Outlook - it is capable of doing plain text and appearing to
be a normal MUA - except for stupid stuff like not using IMAP folders
for drafts and sent mail (and no configuration options for that either).
Outlook is purposed for Exchange server and the only other features that
are offered are to provide 'just enough' service to fool people to think
that it's a worthy program. On the negative side (major negatives I
might add), the contacts module is a black hole and hard to get them out
in usable fashion though it can be done, poor IMAP support as listed
above and awkward single containers that can explode and thereby causing
you to lose all your email, all your contacts and all of your calendar
entries too.
If you have Exchange server though, the negatives are minimal and the
feature set is extra ordinarily good. I also love GroupWise.
But I digress - this really doesn't speak to the issue at hand.
