I really harassed my kids, when they were hunt-and-pecking,
to keep their fingers on the home keys. That's all that's
needed to *eventually* become a "real" typist -- after a
while you find that your fingers are doing the Right Thing.
Laid off after 30 years of hacking, I applied for some
clerical work and was amazed when I tested out at 60wpm with
no errors!

Remember that *most* data recovery situations are due
to cockpit error. Your protection against this is to always
"Save as ..." and start a newly named version, keeping backups
named like index04dec30.html. I've shot enough of my toes
off that this is now a compulsive habit.
