I agree with others who have replied -- rsync + a backup script is probably
the best way to go. I personally use rsnapshot[1] .. it is easy to setup (one
config file) and is run via cron. It is highly configurable. I have it
backing up my local network and remote servers on a daily basis.
Currently it backs up 4 locations (over ssh), around 56GB (61,904 files) and
nightly backups take anywhere from 10minutes to 1hr to complete (over cable
modem/dsl lines).
