OK my laptop's getting full and I notice that I have 3 different pythons
installed, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3.
Do I need all these beasts? /usr/bin/python is from 2.3.
"apt-get --purge remove python2.1" only wants to remove python2.1-*
packages. Same for 2.2. Neither wants to remove all of it's ilk, but they
get rid of most of it. I presume the leftovers are bad dependencies or
packages where there really doesn't need to be a dep ( python2.1-doc, for
instance ).
So, should scripts automagically be using 2.3 and should they be fine if I
remove the older versions?
GNUe and positron ( for Neuros media player ) are the only python things
I've installed by hand. They need to move to 2.3 even if they aren't there
yet ;-).
