Subject: cd burner

Well, I got it (AOPEN CRW1232) but don't really know how to get
it installed. After googling I found that I am supposed to to add
to append in lilo.conf 'hdd=ide-scsi' which I did. I then rebooted
and found that while that may have been part of the solution it made
no noticable difference to me.

I think the computer sees it. dmesg gives:

hdd: AOPEN CRW1232, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive

Very cool! sudo k3b started the burner program and the output
messages indicate that it sees the burner (1). Then a window opens
saying "Could not start process Unknown protocol 'file'." and
'Could not find mime type application/octet-stream'. Then the program
crashes.

Well look at that! At the bottom of 1- it seems that the first CDROM has
many more aliases than the new one. Could that be a problem.
