Subject: Re: Need help with friends Cox Cable
Thanks, IF I can get knoppix to work with both at the
same time, the modem and find his keyboard!! Of
course, could boot to cli and hope the keyboard and
modem both are found!! The 'wall/splitter' to modem is
about ten feet .. guessing.

Will try to make sure the cables are not the problem.
Doubt that it will be simple without equipment. I just
remembered, there is/was a 'repair' where a 'good'
neighbor (long gone) tapped in long before he got
internet, but that shouldn't be a problem...will check
that 'splicer' just incase.
Btw, Cox didn't want to press charges, might have been
all the HA's that she hung out with??? HA's = Hell's
Angels!!

Speaking of which, it is funny how she moved while I
was at work (used to live in back). I don't understand
why all the 'photos' and license plates, that I faxed
to DEA and FBI and etc (5 fax numbers) from work would
have anything to do with that!!!..I worked in Maricopa
County Hospital and used several different fax
machines. Real funny. Hum, got tired of being told to
'not come home' at midnight. And seeing all kinds of
people crawling in and out of her windows!!

As far as your

As I stated, it WAS an external modem (I hate
'infernal' internals!!! They are usually a 'windy'
modem--crap), no pci on my slow die'r. It was on at
least two different machines, a k6-2-350 and this
p3-850. I like looking at the 'blinking' lights...when
the page doesn't load..even if it is the other end's
problem. My qworst/actiontec is sitting here blinking
at me, both machines humming away, er blinking away.

If I can get knoppix to see both items, Keyboard and
modem!! Like I said, weird this morn.

Just tried that here, and:

bash: ipconfig: command not found

=====
Cyclists should expect and demand safe
accommodation on our public roads,
just as does every other user.

Nothing more is expected.

Nothing less is acceptable!
