Subject: Remote Connectivity Mystery
Hi I am expieriencing something that I can't explain or fix. I have a
laptop running RedHat 9.0. I use Rdesktop to connect to a Windows 2k
server and some XP boxes at a clients business.

Up until recently they were using a linux box as a firewall. I could use
ssh and forward port 3389, used by terminal services, to what ever
box I wanted, use Rdestop to connect to localhost and connect to any of
these boxes with no problem.

Unfortunatly they eliminated the linux box, but have set their new
firewall to forward requests on port 3389 directley to their win2k server.

When I am at home, I can no longer connect to their win 2k box, but if I
go to a Wifi hotspot at Starbucks, I can connect with no problem.

I have a fast ADSL connectikon at home and as far as I can tell, no
restrictions on traffic using port 3389.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Charlie
PS for security reasons, I would like them to replace the linux box they
got rid of.
