I would be happy to share NetMonkey. Its actually "owned" by one of my
friends and I think he has a website for it, I'll look it up and post to the
list. I would interested in putting some of the non sudo stuff in there as
well because it is kind of a pain (right now I just added myself to the
sudoers file with no password needed for netmonkey which then ups/downs the
network). I'll get a package of NetMonkey to you as soon as I can.

Unfortunately, no. And, I have not had time to investigate how Red Hat
does it. For now, I am using sudo within my scripts. Sub-optimal to
say the least.
I would love to collaborate with you on this. I hope to dig into the RH
scripts in the next couple of weeks, so I can share what I learn there.
Would you be interested in sharing NetMonkey? Sounds interesting to
me. I also frequently move across many networks with my gentoo laptop.
