Hey, that worked like a charm! Couldn't believe it could be so easy! Why
doesn't VMWare mention this in their troubleshooting notes? Or did I miss
that? Now I just have to get the DGA graphics extensions working. (I
believe there must be support for that, because in my XF86Config-4 file,
there is a like that says "Option omit xfree86-dga" , which has been
commented out.) Anyway, muchas gracias!

P.s. I have recompiled an mdk kernel before; that's why I wanted to avoid it
again if possible. :-)
