Software based RAID for Linux. Been in the kernel since 2.2 and very
stable since 2.4

Logical volume management. Been around for a long time too. This
allows you to create one volume from many disks and remove or add disks
to this volume.

I don't know which would compare to Windows Dynamic Disk but RAID
certainly is availble, mature and is very stable. Whoever claimed
otherwise does not know what they are talking about.
