I just installed a new motherboard and processor a couple days ago, and I got
the parts from MWave, unbundled.
Asus A7N8X-X $68
AMD Athlon XP2800+ 333MHz OEM $98
Vantec Fan VA4-C7040 (copper core heat sink) $27.50 (Cool and quiet)
The memory was the big expense...
Corsair TWINX1024-2700LL 2X64X64 333MHZ 2X512MB (MATCHED PAIR)
2-2-2-5-T1 DDR DIMM W/Heat Spreader $290.00
It runs great using kernel 2.6.3-9mdk-i686-up-4GB (Mandrake 10.0 Official)
I am using the 'Aggressive' timing settings because of the low latency ram.
I had to use 'noapic nolapic' on the append line
I am using an SBLive sound card, 3C905 NIC, an NVidia Ti4200 AGP 8x video
card, and an older BT848 TV card.
Choose a little more 'deluxe' version of the MB if you want to take advantage
of the dual channel memory capabilities of the NForce chipset, the basic
A7n8X-X will only run in single channel mode.

If built in great numbers, motels will be used for nothing but illegal
purposes.
