Have you taken a look at subversion? Binary is supposed to be a
speciality of subversion. I have not yet had a need to use it.

I wonder if doing some exports to XML would help your situation? I have
seen some people save their OO Writer files as XML and it made it a
breeze to see the changes with ViewCVS. I'm no guru, but I scratch my
head as to how you can merge multiple diffs into a binary format and
still expect it to work. Anyone care to enlighten me?
