Great story. The next generation, being willing to try new things,
accepts Linux very easily. Some time ago I setup a separate computer for
my kids.

- They each love to have their own login and desktop that they can
customize the way they each want.
- They love the games. My boys (ages 10 and 6) can't get enough of that
space war one. And don't get me started on Frozen Bubble!
- One of my daughters (age 12) couldn't type well. Enter ktouch. Now she
is much better at it.
- They do all their school reports in OpenOffice.org. Sometimes they even
save them to floppy as .DOC files and print them at school without
problems.
- My oldest daughter (age 15) is taking a drawing class in High School.
They just did a section on computer drawing with Photoshop. Now she is
becoming quite a GIMP expert here at home.
- My oldest son loves playing with javabots. I need to do some more
programming sessions with him so he can get better at it.

FS/OSS and kids mix VERY well!

Alan
