I don't know if it's worth the trouble but you *can* build a kernel
that will read HFS CDs. I had a client who had a bunch of data on mac
disks and after some screwing around we got a version of Red Hat on her
white box PC to recognize HFS. The code is on the Ben H mirrors. HFS+
code is also available. You probably knew that already but I'm
surprised at how many people don't know. You can also find code to
read NTFS out there these days.
