Subject: Re: A7N8X Deluxe and Debian Woody
Currently, I have Gentoo installed on the machine and it is working fine. I just don't want to keep using Gentoo and have used Debian on a laptop for a long time without any issues. I was just trying to see if the base install would work because it uses an older (2.4.18) kernel. Once installed I will either install the 2.6.3 kernel or the 2.4.25, both have support for the Nforce2 motherboards.

I had installed both MDK9.2 and Fedora on the machine but didn't really care for them. My goal is to set up MythTV on a server to handle PVR and playback on different machines throughout the house. I got it installed on my Gentoo box, but I find Gentoo too much of a hassle to keep updated with the etc-update command and thought Debian would be better for the server. Of course, I was going to try this first on my machine since I don't have to worry about redoing it.
