I have no experience with the A7NX8X (except for one RH 9 install) and
most of my experience with Debian comes from Macs. So take this advice
for what it's worth. My perception is that, in General, Debian and
Gentoo don't support recent hardware very well. It may be that these
distros simply don't get the help from the hardware vendors that Fedora
and YDL do.

So if it I have any problem with either of those distros my first
response is to install something that will likely 'go on easy' and
provide up to date disk partitioning tools that will work easily. That
means Fedora on AMD/Intel and YDL on Macs. Then I just install the real
target over the net on top of the easy to install Linux.
