you all might be wondering what happened to me. I'm sure that you all missed
my running commentary over the weekend.
Here is what happened:
Unbeknownst to me my insurance lapsed and I got pulled over two Saturdays
ago..... and my license plate was taken from me. I spent a week staying at
home trying to get this taken care of. That is bad!
Then on Thursday, my monitor flatlined. That was the worst time for that to
have happened. I can't afford 2-300 dollars for a new monitor so I looked for
a ride to Westec (1008 West Madison) so I could get a recycled monitor for
$25, but none was to be found. On Saturday I finally got my car problem
resolved. (YIPEE) So then I was talking to my Linux mentor and he offered a
monitor (very nice of him) but when I got it home (after the picnic) I
couldn't get it working. (bummer) So on Monday.... what happened that
day<?>...... whatever!.... oh yea, I got to Westec late. But on Tuesday I
mean today I went to there durring lunch and got a monitor with a working
area of 13x9.5", a memory card, and a NIC card for $40. Then today, as a
training project at school, I made an eight foot connector cable for it.
Why did I get the NIC card? you may be asking? The reason I got it was because
I was advised to get one at some point. Did I get the right thing to talk to
another computer? This is for peer to peer, right?
