It is hard for me to get excited about someone using the community.
Basically SuSE wants to be a proprietary software company and acts like
one in many ways. While they do contribute some back, they are not in my
opinion a strong community leader. Therefore, it doesn't tickle me to see
them trying to take a dominant position.
If I remember correctly, SCO at one time was putting some money into Linux
and people were glad to see a legitimate "unix" vendor step up. Well we
know how that turned out. I guess my being from Missouri leaves me with
the "Show Me" philosphy.
Yeah they are part of Novell now, but frankly Novell has a poor track
record too. Remember Caldera? So until they show me that they are
serious I will dismiss them as another leech.
