even though IBM and Dell are running commercials that mention and
possibly feature Linux - they aren't actually selling Linux, they are
selling their hardware and software bundles and thus, they aren't
concerned with actually promoting Linux for Linux's sake.
The reason that this is occurring though is because Linux servers
represent the largest growth area in tech last year and definitely this
year. At some point, the same thing could very well occur for desktop
systems (can anyone say UserLinux?) and the gloves will come off and we
won't be seeing Microsoft featuring users doing the chicken walk.
