Transition to Linux complete

Congratulations on making a complete (close to) transition to Linux.
On the fact that you use openoffice.org may I suggest that you give koffice
suite a try (kword, kpresenter, kspread, kchart, etc.). You know how
openoffice takes like thirty seconds (or longer) to load, well koffice takes
like 2 seconds to load and the specific app you choose takes two seconds. And
if that is too long to wait you can just load the app if you want.
