Hi Craig,
Like many things Linux/Unix, you will probably not find too many links
as it is extremely simple.
1. Scrape the text.
2. Position your pointer where you want to paste it in the desire
application.
3. Use the middle mouse button.
NOTE: The paste only works as long as the scrape portion remains
highlighted. Once the highlighting is gone, the middle click will stop
working. If you paste and nothing shows up, make sure it is still
highlighted.
NOTE: Some apps will take a while to paste. I have noticed that when I
scrape from StarOffice to an xterm, sometimes it takes up to a minute
(!!!) to paste. Everything else I have tried is instantaneous. Weird.
NOTE: Some apps (Midnight Commander, for example) will require you to
shift-paste, but they usually let you know that in the docs or hints.
I use this almost continuously (more than hourly) at home and work.
Reduces transcription errors. Beats typing.
