Sounds like a boot-loader issue.
WARNING!!! Its a REALLY good idea to have a working boot disk before you
go messing around with your boot-loader.
I don't think grub shipped with RH7.0 so look in /etc/lilo.conf.
Look for lines:
That says 'default=...'
That start with 'image=/...'.
Whichever the 'default' is pointing to is probably the multiprocessor
kernel. Change the default line to point to the other one (or post what
you see and we'll help you figure it out).
After you change /etc/lilo.conf you need to run (as root) 'lilo' to
record the changes to the boot-record.
