Besides how long even a `make install` takes, it's really painful to
compile kernels on it and not worth it, if it's even possible, to update
all the various libs so I could compile on any of my gentoo boxen. I
tried getting 2.4.21 to work awhile ago but I couldn't get it to coexist
with SuSE's pcmcia-cs (probably my fault somewhere). It works, I'm
happy. I don't do X. I just write PHP interfaces for use in lynx (yes,
it's running apache too) and it simply works.
P.S. I didn't notice any speed increase for the time I was running
2.4.21 and struggling with pcmcia-cs.
