I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for here. If you want an
editor that knows about DTDs and uses them, I like Conglomerate. It's
an XML editor, that is mostly aimed at Docbook, but can do any XML
stuff. It's got a nice clean interface. (Actually, it's the nicest XML
editing interface I've seen)
