See bottom...

This is great for telling me what your intentions were but it doesn't
help with what you actually did...

I have a seizing problem too. It happens when I try to use OpenOffice
(any part) while running the 'nvidia' display driver. I don't have the
seizes with the 'nv' driver though. I vaguely remember you having a
nvidia card. Try the 'nv' driver (if you aren't already using it) and
see if the seizing stops.

You didn't mention if a dummy-user account had the same konqueror
problem or not.

Ok. Disclaimer: My primary system is RedHat, I have a second Debian
system so I know a little. I still think this isn't the right way to fix
this, but here goes...

Make a note of which version of konqueror you have installed.
To remove a package AND it's config files:
]$ apt-get --purge remove package-name
(replace package-name with konqueror)

To re-install konqueror:
]$ apt-get install konqueror=version_number

I don't know if the version number will be a problem or not. I'm not
familiar with what knoppix is exactly (unstable/testing/stable), but I
figure better safe than sorry.

Good luck,
Bart
