Try the 'nv' driver (if you aren't already using it) and see if the seizing stops. You didn't mention if a dummy-user account had the same konqueror problem or not. Ok. Disclaimer: My primary system is RedHat, I have a second Debian system so I know a little. I still think this isn't the right way to fix this, but here goes... Make a note of which version of konqueror you have installed. To remove a package AND it's config files: ]$ apt-get --purge remove package-name (replace package-name with konqueror) To re-install konqueror: ]$ apt-get install konqueror=version_number I don't know if the version number will be a problem or not. I'm not familiar with what knoppix is exactly (unstable/testing/stable), but I figure better safe than sorry. Good luck, Bart
