Jabber. :) I run my own server even! Anyone interested in helping start
a public chat service with openness in mind? I even own a domain name
just up the alley for it... Chatsafe.org.
I have begun developing a web-based interface to it in PHP (since that's
what I do!) running Jabberd with MySQL support. I figure with a good
dedicated server somewhere and some collaborative effort we could start
something really cool. Any ideas, suggestions, volunteers?

moin, moin,
AOL, m$ and Yahoo! are all trying to lock out Free Software clients. Is
there a protocol and network we can use that is and will remain
available to Free Software?
/me wants to just keep using irc :).
