Jabber. :) I run my own server even! Anyone interested in helping start a public chat service with openness in mind? I even own a domain name just up the alley for it... Chatsafe.org. I have begun developing a web-based interface to it in PHP (since that's what I do!) running Jabberd with MySQL support. I figure with a good dedicated server somewhere and some collaborative effort we could start something really cool. Any ideas, suggestions, volunteers? Is there a protocol and network we can use that is and will remain available to Free Software? /me wants to just keep using irc :). ciao, der.hans -- # https://www.LuftHans.com/ http://www.AZOTO.org/ # Take a razor to your throat # and a noose to your neck, # then follow that up with a cup of poison. # Not a good way to start the day. - der.hans --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
